Wonder Works were delighted to have been chosen by Brilliant Stages to help produce the detailed design and fabrication drawings for a giant moving platform, that’s caught the imagination of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s fans on the European leg of their ‘On the Run II’ tour. Rolling Stone magazine wrote:
“…this was still a stadium show, and a spectacular one at that, featuring an enormous stage set, a floating platform that transported the pair down the length of the venue…”.
The giant bridge-like platform magically connects Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s two catwalks, lifting the artists and dancers up and over the heads of their devoted fans. Ben O’Neill, Wonder Works’ Technical Designer comments, “On this occasion, Brilliant Stages provided Wonder Works with guidance on the innovative design concept and philosophy, from which our [or Wonder Works] CAD designers developed the detailed technical design and fabrication drawings”.
Wonder Works and Brilliant Stages have worked together for many years on similar innovative stage projects with extremely tight deadlines. Jeremy Lloyd, Wonder Works’ Director comments, “We’ve got a long-standing and good relationship with Brilliant Stages. “They know us and trust us to deliver the highest quality design drawings for a creative environment where elements are constantly being refined”
After a series of successful concerts in the UK, Beyoncé and Jay-Z are continuing to tour in mainland Europe before they move on to the USA.
