Nick Evans

Technical Manager

Nick has spent over three decades touring with global acts all over the world. He is an expert at managing budgets, coordinating teams, and liaising with suppliers and clients to help deliver adventurous creative ideas for the likes of Beyonce, One Direction, Roger Waters and Rammstein.

Nick’s route into the entertainment industry was an unconventional one. After honing his skills as a lighting technician in amateur theatre, and then working on conferences and trade shows in the late 80’s, he was catapulted into music touring in 1992 as Automation Operator for Prince’s Diamonds and Pearls Tour. The next decade saw him work as lighting crew and a rigging chief for music legends such as Phil Collins, Depeche Mode, Metallica, Robbie Williams & Bon Jovi, many of whom he still works with today.

In 2000 Nick took a break from the entertainment industry to study engineering. Graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in 2004, Nick is able to speak the language of both worlds, bridging the gap between engineering and entertainment. He is an expert at understanding complicated technical problems, often helping his clients find the most practical solution without compromising on creativity. This insight and experience makes him a highly sought-after name in the industry and has seen him work on many major international events and tours across the globe.

From rigging and lighting in the early days, to pre-production consultancy and project management, Nick has been working with Piers and Jeremy on and off since 1997. Now as a trusted freelancer for Wonder Works, he is responsible for delivering a diverse range of events from concept to completion. Recent highlights include managing the technical design and coordination of Munich’s epic open-air concert series for Bavaria Sounds (2022) and playing a pivotal role in delivering and maintaining the largest-ever World Expo site in Dubai (2020).

Beyond his professional endeavours, Nick’s interests are as diverse as his career. He sits as a local magistrate in South and West Devon, demonstrating his commitment to making a positive impact in the community. He also enjoys watching rugby, walking his two large dogs in the countryside, and motorcycling.
