Ben O’Neill

Project Manager

Ben trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama, graduating in 2009 with a first in Theatre Practice (Technical & Production Management).

Over the past decade he has put his excellent CAD and design know-how to good use. He initially worked as a project manager and design draughtsman with theatre and film rigging supplier Flywire TRP and The Rigging Partnership. Here he worked on a variety of projects including capital works at the National Theatre and RSC, tours such as Take That Progress Live (2011), and films including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (2010 and 2011), and SkyFall (2012).In 2011 he was snapped up by London 2012 Ceremonies to work as part of the CAD team for all four ceremonies.

He has continued in ceremonies spending 14 months in Russia as CAD Manager for all four ceremonies of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. Back in the London Office Ben moved onto Technical Design for the Opening Ceremony of the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics.  He then went to Baku to work on the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games.

In 2016 Wonder Works moved to their current offices.  Ben was responsible for all the CAD drawings for the fit-out and oversaw work onsite.

Although Ceremonies have become Ben’s speciality, his technical design skills have also been used for music touring, recently and most notably for Beyoncé and Jay-Z On the Run II (2018).

When Ben isn’t designing, he can be found brushing up on a new foreign language or tinkering with a ‘lost cause’ motor bike.
